Laugh at the Moon

Words and Music - Gary Morrell

Unreleased

I see the mailbox on the lonesome dusty lane

I see the scarecrow in the field

I see an arrow pointing north on a weather vane

I see the dust take his yield

Can't change the past

It's your stage

Got one chance to get it right

Sing with the sun

Laugh at the moon

Whistle like wind

The past may not have been

Watch as morals bend to get to peace

I see the ribs poking through the family dog

I hear the cackle from within

I feel the engine of his manhood running down

This isn't how it's 'sposed to end

Can't change the past

It's your stage

Got one chance to get it right

Sing with the sun

Laugh at the moon

Whistle like wind

Find the strength within

Watch as morals bend to get to peace

I see Jake Levi as he makes his final plan

I hear the rain as she drops

I see the fear the doubt the love in all their eyes

I hear the willow as she weeps

And the sun won't singe

And the moon won't last

And the wind won't know

That its time is past
